America on the brink

While I realize my blog was created to share fun stories about my children and husband, the problem is, the cares of this world are becoming so great, it's quite hard to concentrate on their adorable antics.
As everyone I know either loses their job or stands on the brink, I find myself wondering what the real answer is. I know that I'm opinionated and tend to brush off the left wing ideas with out a glance, but this situation is not just dire but will define the future of our country. My reason for being so vehemnently against the propaganda that Obama puts out there is not selfish. I feel that so many people voted for him because they thought he would fix the economy. I still don't understand their train of thought but regardless, it's a pretty selfish motive when we as a country have so much on the line, both morally and financially. We have a president that thinks the Constitution is antiquated and needs to be rewritten. This in and of itself is terrifying to me. Take it a step further and look at what just one week in office has brought us. He has announced that he needs to grow government in order to save the economy. In spite of the dire need for a bailout he signs away to give money to organizations that offer abortions all over the world. Great, we aren't just guilty in this country, we're guilty abroad as well. Why do I think that growing government is a bad thing? Because it strips us of our freedom, entreprenureal spirit and creativity. He will tax us more and we will become little robots. When government gets to the point that they think a small body of selfishly motivated politicians can make decisions for us better than we can, we're not on the brink of socialism, we're there. The fatal flaw of socialism is the sinful nature of man. I don't have an eternal fear about this. I know that someday I will cast aside these worries and join my savior in heaven. I just want to let go, knowing I did what I could to preserve the religious freedom for my children that I enjoyed. So, I hope that we can join together and possibly even create a new political party that respects freedom, understands the proper role of government and has the proper respect for the sanctity of life in the womb. Now is the time to act AND pray.

What is wrong?

Friends, if I had to count the number of people whom have told me that Obama is our president and we need to pray for him or that God appoints the leaders... I think I might throw up. I'm serious. This is ridiculous. Here we are, with a hollywood election and a president who has no experience and a track record of supporting gun control and partial birth abortion. His beliefs are questionable. His voting record is damning and I guess I'm being told that the "Christian" thing to do is sit down and take it. Well, I wont. I believe that God created us with free wills and what happens as a consequence of the decisions we make, is something we must live with. If you did not do everything humanly possible to get someone elected that would actually preside with the morals that Christians believe in, it's time to repent. This is the bottom line, having Obama as president will not be the second coming of Jesus. I do not think for one second that "Martin Luther King Jr. would be so proud." He was a godly man, with principles and a belief in equality and the sanctity of life. He was an activist, with a dream of all men being treated equally and though on one front, the election of Obama represents that, I doubt he would sell his soul and be pleased with the morals of the first black man ever elected. Why a conservative group has never gotten a backbone and run Alan Keys for President is a complete mystery to me. So, I keep coming back to the woman that Jesus talked about. She went to the evil king and begged for justice every day until he was so annoyed that he gave her justice. People, God gave us feet for walking and a mouth to share the good news and demand justice for the innocent. Prayer is a great tool for building a relationship with God. It's wonderful for sharing the desires of your hearts and finding His will in your life, but let us never say we gave God lip service and sent up a paltry prayer for our government and left the doing up to whoever was greedy enough to make themselves heard for their own gain. It is time for the righteous to scream for justice. It is time to drive the evil ruler so crazy that he gives justice. By justice, I mean the innocent blood that cries from the ground. God did not appoint Barack Obama. You did, you made this happen so deal with it. And when we face God, he's not going to say "I put Obama there!" He's going to ask you why you did. I'm just calling it like I see it.

Busy like a bee...

I've been so busy lately and terrible at blogging.
First of all, I'm sorry I didn't send out Christmas letters. I wrote one and wanted to end it with the good news about Jody when we got it and then the computer I had composed it on, died! So now, it's mid January and I really have to wonder what in the world you will all think if you get a letter from me now????
Recently, I've continued my storage auction obsession with limited success. I won one last Friday and made $255 within 48 hours and my garage was empty! It was a rush!
The kids are great. We've been having amazing balmy weather lately and it's very invigorating and it really lifts the spirits. If you are reading this from Minnesota... I'm sorry. What else can I say? Why did your ancestors think that would be a good place to settle??? I just don't know.
Today we buzzed over to Boulder and hung out on the Pearl Street Mall for a couple of hours and fed some homeless people. It was nice.
Finally, I just want to go on the record and be sure that everyone knows, I never believed in global warming. It's a terrible hoax. If you just think for a minute about the biological history of our planet, it's inconcievable. If the planet had to be at least 30 degrees warmer for dinosaurs to survive and they were so huge, putting off all of that heat, well, it's just ridiculous. Of course we have had cycles of warmth and cold. We are not changing the temperature of the planet. It's silly. We don't even have credible data of the temperatures for the last 100 years let alone thousands. There, when they admit it was a silly idea and wondered why they gave Al Gore a Nobel Peace Prize, it's out there that I never thought it made sense to begin with.

All Clear

Jody got the all clear from the doc, so the cancer didn't spread anywhere else. Big sigh of relief.
